For a long time Maher was famous for declaring he was politically incorrect whilst being one of the most politically correct morons around....though he was always on the right side of the fence when it came to muslims.

Now he seems to be grudingly coming around at least to some extent to actually supporting truths.....he needs to be more concerned about how his fellow American Jews......for the most part are still deeply mired in political correctness simply because they are stuck in the past ....as in following in their parents footsteps of gross liberality.

Rushdie has been targeted for death by the "Religion of Peace" for at least 20 years. It looks like they finally got to him.
Of course the would be assassin has been shown to be a supporter of Iran.....this incident demonstrates that Iran is willing to attack anyone that tells the truth about Islam but especially those of some fame and influence.....their goal being of course to silence any and all who reveal the truth regarding Islam.....the question being will any prominent and or influential people become afraid to speak out.....I think this has been going on for a long time and will get even worse now.....we have seen this phenomenon of influential people willing to attack Christianity in every conceivable manner but say nothing about Islam....as in they have been intimidated.....this also applies to the entertainment industry....just about every movie that comes out of Hollywood manages to cast aspersions and criticisms of Christianity but rarely if ever dare tell the truth about Islam....this also goes to corporations and academia.....they stay away from daring to tell the truth about islam because they realize they may suffer financial repercussions and possibly even danger to themselves and or their family.

Bottom line...too many Americans have little regard for free speech.....even though this board is better than most regarding free speech they are very weak on freedom of speech.....so stupid really they do not even understand its real importance or in some cases....obviously not even understanding what it is.....prime example....they believe just because they allow profanity, vulgarisms etc. aka licentiousness.....thinking that makes them advocates of free speech whilst they censor conservative commentary....constantly sending posts to the basement (covert censorship' based on political bias.

There is a huge difference between Licentiousness and true liberty.

Some speech has no value.

Some speech has no value.
It is not a question of value(who gets to decide that?) it is a question of being able to speak or not being able to speak.

Of course a lot of things that are said have no value to anyone...no doubt about that....however that has no role to play regarading free speech.

I do not think profanity should be allowed in any public venue nor obscene acts ....but again who gets to decide that?

Thus there are many complexities regarding free speech what it means and how it is or is not enforced.

Of primary importance however any kind of speech related to politics should not be restricted on the basis of politics alone.

One big problem we as a society now have is the over-abundance of profanity....one can hardly go anywhere now without hearing a lot of it.

He is not dead yet, may be he will lose and eye, praying for him and hope he will recuperate soon!

Bless him.
