Bikers plan 2 Million Bikers to D.C. to counter Million Muslim March

Both events will fail. There will not be a million muslims and there will not be two million bikers. The media will make a positive story for the muslims, even if 10,000 show up. They will make the biker event look like a failure because at most only a few hundred will show up.

Typical liberal response.

Saul Alinsky would be proud.

Nothing liberal about it. A motorcycle event has been held in Washington, DC for over 25 years on Memorial Day Weekends. It took many years for it to reach a point where it draws about a half-million riders. They organize all year, have organizing chapters across the USA, a large contingent comes in from California and the western states and it is promoted in all the major motorcycle mag's and media outlets. They have arranged special hotel and camping deals and have complete cooperation from the city and are allowed to gather for their demonstation run through DC at the huge Pentagon parking lots. A two million bike event announced a few weeks in advance is not going to happen. Bikers are not going to ride from hundreds or thousands of miles away at great exspense to participate in an event that isn't sponsored or endorsed by significant biker groups. Hell, Sturgis draws an estimated 2 million bikers and that event has been going on for something like fifty years and is a week long party with top name attractions and is known as the must go to in your lifetime event if you are a biker. So, you can bet the farm, there ain't going to be a significant number of bikers going to this event, and since the fools announced there would be 2 million, even if a few thousand were to show up it will be viewed as a failure. The DC media knows what alot of bikes look and sound like and this dismal showing will be viewed as a joke.

I read the headline and figured Washington DC was just too far to pedal.

Hell, it would take days.

Maybe weeks.

Have to give this one a miss.

Bravo to these bikers :clap2:

I sincerely hope they get an overwhelming response !

Bikers to counter Muslim march

Muslims who have begun promoting a 9/11 march in Washington that originally was to protest “anti-Islamic bigotry in the U.S.” and then turned into a “March Against Fear” may have some competition.

Loud competition. Very loud. And lots of it.

In what was a virtual impossibility before the Internet, a Facebook page has been created in which many individuals are coordinating what they have dubbed “2 Million Bikers to DC.”

At the Mr. Conservative blog, the author said: “The best way to counter bad speech is to oppose it with good speech. Sometimes ‘speech’ can be expressed simply by the number of people who are willing to show up to support a principle. That’s the view that hundreds of bikers (so far) across American have as they prepare to join a ’2 Million Biker Ride to DC’ to counter the planned Sept. 11 ‘Million Muslim March.’”

On the Facebook page, the community purpose is described as: “To honor those who were killed on 911 and our armed forces who fought those who precipitated this attack!”

More than 16,000 “likes” had been generated in just a short time.

“We have now created the final phase for states to coordinate! All riders need to look at the state list, choose your state and request to be added! Several states still need coordinators,” is included in the instructions.

Four dozen pages to coordinate delegations from individuals states already exist.

A Ronald Curaba said: “Who ever comments I would like to do this … should shut up and show up! Im a retired FDN Lt. I should be at my old firehouse where I was on that ill fated day …. but I will be in DC riding! God willing!”

Added Bryan Short: “How appropriate. A million muslims surrounded by 2 million hogs!”

Seems a bit childish. I'm also curious as to why a "march against fear" is considered "bad speech" by the individual in the article.

I don't really get why people are upset about this March Against Fear. What they want to do is say they are not responsible for 9/11 nor do they support it or the people that did it, and they want people to understand that they don't need to fear the average Muslim, that it is extremists, terrorists who did 9/11. If people would only learn to dialogue with each other, they would see they are all on the same side! :(

Exactly, isn't that something that many conservatives have been calling on Muslims to do anyway?

I don't think anyone seriously believes a million Muslims, or two million bikers are going to show up.
The point is whatever the # of Muslims show up, we want to counter that with more bikers.

It is, but they aren't reading it that way. The only thing the right will understand is if the march is about abject apology from Muslims and loud and repetitive denunciation of the extremists. The right doesn't accept that average Muslims have denounced 9/11 and have expressed their sorrow about it. They want them to apologize for it even though they are not responsible for it. The right, or a lot of them, actually believes that the terrorists were following Islam, and these people probably want the Muslims to denounce their own religion too. People need to talk, and to LISTEN to each other

The day has become known as a day for remembrance, not a day to list your demands.
The march is in poor taste, and it's amazing they are not bright enough to figure that out.

Exactly. They will put a positive spin Muslim event, well inflate the numbers and demean and disparage the biker event and dumb down their numbers!

This is a reason to sit down with each other and talk. Instead of just getting more hateful. It is a problem of miscommunication, possibly a cultural issue.

The nation would be better off if the bikers started patrolling the streets as vigilantes.

That would be fine if that's what they were calling for, but it's not.

Try to imagine about ten to fifteen years after the end of WWII, that Japanese-Americans decided to stage a march on DC to protest FDR's roundup of Japanese-Americans during the war, and they specifically chose the day of December 7th. They may have had great reasoning for the march, but it would have been in terrible taste to have marched on the date that Pearl Harbor was attacked.

Why you ask?

First the organizer of the event went on record promoting truther statements. Farahkan and unbashful jew hater, white hater and America hater is a key note speaker. These people aren't honoring the victims they are dishonoring the victims by make false attacks that the US is a racist country. We treat Muslims better (when we shouldn't) then any Muslim country treats them. They are doing this to make a statement against America, against ISRAEL and to push their changing American Agenda!

It's bullshit and Americans should stand for it!

There are bikers, then there are Bikers.

There are millions of bikers who are simply those who like to ride motorcycles. There somewhat fewer, but more effective Outlaw Bikers.
