That's a simplistic view of what's happening there. Sudan agreed to allow a Russian naval base on the Red Sea back in February. In March, under secretary of state for political affairs Victoria Nuland visited Sudan. Only one month later, a civil war broke out between the Sudanese Armed Forces against the Rapid Support Forces.

Just three hours ago, it was reported " A HEAVY US military presence—including military helicopters and combat aircraft—have been spotted in the skies above the U.S. embassy compound in Sudan as fighting continues - EVACUATIONS OF THE EMBASSY ARE UNDERWAY"
