The XL pipeline was just getting started. They were working on the pump stations while they got right-of-way to start the pipeline work. Peak employment would have been 11,000 workers and the project would have taken 3-years to build and spend $8b in wages alone, not counting materials and indirect labor, such as hotels and food services that won't happen now.
Canada is the one who got hurt the most. They have the 3rd largest oil deposit on the planet and can't get enough of it to market. Enjoy your high taxes in Canada and think about how much oil tax revenue was lost by Xiden's EO.
The oil will ship by RR instead of pipeline, just somewhat less than 830,000 bpd.
Wonder how many RR crashes and major oil spills that will cost?
