Biden's "American Rescue Plan" monetizes crime.

What a great way to stay ignorant.

If you're concerned about the US, you will what works and what doesn't work. You can't see whether it works in the US, because it doesn't exist. So we have examples of where it does work.

Germany's is the best because they vote FPTP and PR on the same day, same voters, and they get massively different results. So we can see there will be a difference between FPTP and PR in the US.

But no, I mentioned Germany, so you shut down and put you head in the sand, fingers in your ears and shout "lalalala"

But I'm not surprised. This conversation is no different to any other we've had.

If Germany's electoral system is on your wish list, good luck with that.

I'm less concerned about elections than what the winners do after elections are over. So far, same old same old. The new administrations inherit the same old problems and do the same old things...little or nothing. Their modus operandi is gridlock.

the media cant hide info because we have freedom of the press. There is always another media company to publish a story . I wonder why Trump's lawyers didn't use such genius defense? Because its a bullshit defense. You would get laughed out of court.

Cohen pleaded guilty to a violation of federal campaign finance law and trump violated New York Election Law § 17.152. Guilty and went to jail for it. If you know more about law than these lawyers, youve got another thing coming.

The media hides negative info about Dems all the time.

trump violated New York Election Law § 17.152.

Conspiracy to promote or prevent election. Any two or more persons who conspire to promote or prevent the election of any person to a public office by unlawful means

Promoting the election of a person is not a crime.
If two people rob a bank and use the money to run a pro-Harris campaign ad in
New York state, that's still only one crime, robbing a bank.

Yes. The CDU/CSU are a traditional conservative party.

Just because the US to the right of most NORMAL COUNTRIES, doesn't mean Merkel wasn't right wing.

A traditional conservative party that's not conservative. WOW!

List the 5 most right-wing things Merkel did while in office.

Knowingly receiving stolen money or goods is a crime.

Billions going to the states and cities with no comprehensive plan to reduce crime.

Its a pretty big leap from 'no comprehensive plan' to 'monetizes crime'.

But the electoral process determines what happens after the elections are over.

The US's craziness is because of the electoral system.

If you take money to fight crime, then don't effectively fight crime all your using crime for is to take money, thus crime is 'monetized'.

People don't know what they are doing.
All they know is what they can get away with.
Same for elected leaders.

Here's the deal.

The UK has FPTP like the US. Germany has PR.

UKIP was an anti-EU political party in the UK. It wanted to leave the EU. They were formed in the 1990s. In 2015 they managed to get 12.6% of the vote. Their previous best had been 3.1%. They got one seat.

The AfD in Germany was formed in 2013. In 2017 they gained 12.6% of vote. And they got 94 seats.

Do you see the difference here?

The impact on the UK was that the Tory Party, the equivalent of the Republicans, didn't really care about UKIP, they knew they weren't that much of a threat because in 2015 the Tories gained 36.8% of the vote, but 50.8% of the seats. Why? Because the system says so.

With PR the Tories wouldn't have even won that election. But they did in 2010, 2015 and 2017 getting less votes than the two main left wing parties.

Now, take the US where the two main parties know they cannot be defeated. No third party can rise up and get enough votes to win any seat. Some independents do... mostly because they Reps or Dems just not in the party and it's clear who they'll vote for.

The politicians can do crazy shit and they know it won't hurt them that much.

With PR the change can come quite quickly.

The AfD gained 12.6% of the vote, the CDU/CSU (equivalent of the Reps) lost 65 seats because of it. It put them in a difficult position, they knew they had to change or they'd die. In the US this doesn't happen.

How many seats total?
