Logic would say, if you have more voters in 2020 than 2016, there should be a higher percentage of rejected ballots if NOT more than in 2016...
but that's not true!

The below table shows:

• in 2020 election there was a 34% increase in number of votes cast.
• And there WERE more 129,987 rejected ballots in 2020 than 2016.

And so the conclusion would be there should have been a higher rejection rate right?

Wrong! There were .6% fewer rejections EVEN there were more votes cast in 2020 than 2016..
2016 rejected percentage 1.4% 2020 rejected percentage 0.8% .
Why? With more signatures to verify (for those who don't understand.. an absentee ballot envelope contains another envelope which contains the ballot.
That envelope that contains the ballot is signed and on average a election signature verification worker has about 4.6 seconds to compare as these samples to determine if the same person signed the ballot request and the return envelope with the ballot.) 4.6 seconds.
In Arizona the County Recorder verified 206,648 early ballot affidavit signatures, which results in an average of 4.6 seconds per signature.
