I'm not going to look up the backgrounds of all nine of our current justices or those who sat before them. But I find that hard to believe.

We had at least one that was not even a lawyer.

Because black voter turnout spiked in both elections with Obama on the ticket and then dropped drastically when Hillary was on the ballot. The point is that the dems want to drive their voters out and it is in question weather or not Biden can drive black voters out the same as Obama.

She's from the midwest and has that folksy charm (although there have been reports from former staffers she's anything but in private). She also doesn't have the baggage of women like Stacey Abrams, Kamala Harris, or Gretchen Whitmer. Also, given Biden's age, there is a fair chance he wouldn't make it through his first term, so it's really almost like there are two Democrats running for president on that ticket this year.

But she's white, and she went after blacks pretty harshly as a prosecutor. Something that is also an issue for Harris.

Where Harris has the advantage is she isn't white. And furthermore, the attempts by the righth to smear her because of her relationship with Willy Brown, it might work with the base, but women are REALLY disgusted by the double standard bullshit. Especially with a serial cheater who has 5 children with three different wives, and publically cheated on all of them.

I don't think race is going to make a big difference who is chosen for VP. I just saw a poll of blacks in Trump vs Biden and only 3% of blacks would vote for Trump. I think Trump has written off the black vote. Any appeal he makes to Blacks is to attract more moderate White voters attempting to show that he isn't the racists democrats claim. An articular black woman further to left than Biden and further to the right than Harris might be good choice.

Your statement seems to be based on the mistaken belief that today's conservatives are a reflection of yesterdays republicans. Republicans in the early and mid-twenty century were a far cry from today's conservatives. The first civil rights bill was passed by republicans. The civil rights and voting act of 1965 were passed by a coalition of democrats and republicans. I would find it hard to believe that any republicans in congress today would support either bill. More likely they would support bills making it more difficult for blacks and other minorities to vote under the guise of preventing voter fraud.
