Biden says he will sponsor (or whatever he has in mind) some new law to codify Roe v Wade into Federal law in the new year.

First, he will not have a compliant Democrat Congress after the new year.

Second, if he were awake when the Dobbs decision was read he would know that the USSC has declared that absent a Constitutional Amendment, the Feds have no role in abortion. Any Federal law as he describes it would be unconstitutional.

Third, if he hadn't been sleeping during the past fifty years he would know that the formulation of Roe v Wade - overruled by Planned Parenthood v Casey - was that the "right" of abortion only existed (under Roe) during the first trimester. During the second Trimester the State could regulate it, and during the third trimester, the kid could not be killed unless coming to term would seriously harm the health of the mother.

Does that sound familiar? That's basically the "heartbeat" law that half of the Red states are working toward right now!

So is he an idiot or does he assume that everyone hearing him is an idiot? It is one or the other.

Conservatives also support individual choice, and do not want religious views forced on them.

The SCOTUS most definitely HAS declared all individual rights to be a federal role, ever since the 14th amendment. The Dobbs decision is just Looney Tunes. There is no way states should be allowed to violate over individual medical, religious, and private personal choice.

Really I haven't really heard anyone lately mention abortions aside from democrat politicians. And when they do mention it they try and use it as a tool to vote for him or to excuse some other problem like that chick that said inflation is because we can't abort babies.

We have way too many other problems in our country right now than abortion. That's the least of most people's worries.
