Biden: US to appeal dismissal of Blackwater case - Yahoo! News

BAGHDAD – The U.S. will appeal a court decision dismissing manslaughter charges against five Blackwater Worldwide guards involved in a deadly 2007 Baghdad shooting, U.S. Vice President Joe Biden said Saturday.

Biden's announcement after a meeting with Iraqi President Jalal Talabani shows just how diplomatically sensitive the incident remains nearly three years later. A lawyer for one guard, noting that word of the intended appeal came in Iraq, accused the Obama administration of political expediency and the U.S. was pursuing an innocent man, rather than justice.

Blackwater security contractors were guarding U.S. diplomats when the guards opened fire in Nisoor Square, a crowded Baghdad intersection, on Sept. 16, 2007. Seventeen people were killed, including women and children, in a shooting that inflamed anti-American sentiment in Iraq.
Biden expressed his "personal regret" for the shooting and said the Obama administration was disappointed by the dismissal. "A dismissal is not an acquittal," he said.

Thoughts?

"DA BOOOOOOOOOOOOSSSH!!!!!!" Pretty tired & lame stuff. I actually saw Olbermann whining about Halliburton the other day on his show. Yikes! Liberal loons desperately need some new material. Sane people have moved on. That only leaves Liberal loons to still be whining about Halliburton and BOOOOOOOOOOOOSSH :)

Dogshit,

Details of the situation were......and especially now......too murky to determine the what, who, when, and why anything happened when a convoy of diplomats guarded by hired American civilian guards were shot at some 2 1/2 years ago in a wartime situation.

Is it surprising that the Obamarrhoids given the choice to side with the Americans or the other side of the issue would bend over backwards to fuck the Americans ?????

Blackwater contracters killed 19 innocent people in an unprovoked massacre. This is a case against Blackwater, which was dismissed on a technicality rather than on the merits of the case. Bush doesn't have stock in Blackwater and Obama continues to use them.

So what in God's name are you on about 'pocalypse?

Saying complaints about Halliburton's war profiteering and Blackwater/Xe's war crimes is "old material" is like saying conservatives complaining about taxes is "old material." They're substantive issues, grow up.

Blackwater and Halliburton are still in operation and heavy use in the two nations we're occupying (and likely in Pakistan as well). They still receive hundreds of millions and billions of dollars of taxpayers' money respectively, and still have an enormous impact on our campaigns in those nations and our vested interests there. The use of neither Blackwater nor Halliburton is confined to the Bush Administration either, both continue to be heavily relied upon by the Obama Admin. The huge unpopularity of Blackwater/Xe in Iraq and Afghanistan as well as their reckless behavior there which so far has faced no consequence even in light of documented, unprovoked murders undermines our ability to gain sufficient public trust and confidence in those nations and diminishes our ability to stabilize the region so we can withdraw.

So how in God's name is that "old material," "tired," or "lame"? That something continues to be an issue and this isn't the first time a problem has arisen hardly makes it "old material" that needs to be moved on from, otherwise by your rationale conservatives should stop complaining about taxes and gun rights or citizens should stop complaining about campaign finance and election laws, but because those will always be relevant and important issues, that rationale makes no sense.

You're working off buzzwords and jumping to conclusions rather than even attempting to consider the issue at hand.

San Quentin,

No matter how you deny, or obfuscate your Obamarrhoidal inner core, your true self always exposes itself.

Your assertion presumes guilt on the part of the Americans in the very wording of your statements:

(1) "......killed 19 INNOCENT (caps mine) people...." How the fuck do you know they were ALL "INNOCENT" ?????

(2) "......UNPROVOKED (caps mine) massacre...." How the fuck do you know it was "UNPROVOKED" ?????

(3) ".......dismissed on a TECHNICALITY (caps mine) rather than on the merits of the case." How the fuck do you know it was a "TECHNICALITY".

As to "growing up". In your case it's more like: stop being an arse-licking OBAMARRHOID
