Why would any oil industry leaders want to raise production/exploration cost on the product they sell, when they can make record profits per barrel and gallon, not raising production at all. They have the most attractive leases sewn up, nobody else is getting them, that could exploit them to make a difference. GOP pushed Supply side economics as favoring the ones that control the supply. It does remind me of OPEC telling Carter to f#ck off, when they controlled the flow, and kept it low for the same monetary benefit to them. Looks like another cartel thing, though this time, the flow controlled by supposed friends.
