What would we do without the incredible...the amazing...the dementia ridden president Joe Biden?

This amazing president has done it again! Just hours ago...he signed a bill that OFFICIALLY designates the BALD EAGLE as Americas national bird! WOW!

Jill and Hunter must be so proud!

President Joe Biden signed 50 bills into law on Tuesday that include making the bald eagle the country's official bird

The story that Franklin proposed the turkey as the national symbol began to circulate in American newspapers around the time of the country’s centennial and are based on a January 26, 1784, letter in which he panned the eagle and extolled the virtues of the gobbler to his daughter, Sarah. In doing so, though, he was not delivering a critique of the Great Seal but a new medal issued by the Society of the Cincinnati, an association of Continental Army veterans. “For my own part I wish the bald eagle had not been chosen as the representative of our country,” he wrote.

The Founding Father argued that the eagle was “a bird of bad moral character” that “does not get his living honestly” because it steals food from the fishing hawk and is “too lazy to fish for himself.”

In contrast, Franklin called the turkey “a much more respectable bird” and “a true original native of America.” While he considered the eagle “a rank coward,” Franklin believed the turkey to be “a bird of courage” that “would not hesitate to attack a grenadier of the British Guards who should presume to invade his farm yard with a red coat on.”

While the private letter was a spirited promotion of the turkey over the eagle, Franklin never made his views public, and when the chance had been given to him to officially propose a symbol for the United States eight years earlier, his idea was biblical, not avian.

If that old goober ever came up with an original idea on his own, his brain would probably short circuit and melt.

And Heil Shitler! wants to change the name to mckinley bird.

He might have had a point. You can't feed the family on an eagle.

We have a literal shit-ton of eagles here in Wisconsin. I grew up believing they were magnificent birds of prey, but most of the time I see them, they're sharing roadkill with crows on the side of the highway. They're still pretty birds though.

So, more of a maga type bird.

What if Joe Dementia gets lost in the white house & never leaves?

We'll have new president after new president & there will be joe...just wandering around in the background.

Maybe they could have a taxidermist stuff him & leave him standing in the hallway. It would be exactly the same as it is now!

Yep, one morning I killed a deer and gutted it, I went back past it for the afternoon hunt and there were several eagles sitting up in an old snag having been eating on it.....Majestic my ass.

There are almost as common as the Crow in MN. Pretty much see them daily.
I have seen them eating roadkill, but have seen them plenty of times taking fish from the surface and a rabbit from the ground.
I cross the Mississippi river daily and they are there all winter .

I thought it was already our official bird. The question is, what is our official tree. Personally, I like the Gingko Biloba.

As for official bird, I was pulling for the grouse.

I'm betting that Joe picked the Bald Eagle just to throw us off the track. While everyone is saying, "What a nice old guy" now, he is up to pardoning a baby rapist turned serial cannibal next.
