Hunter committed and felony and did not pay taxes on millions of dollars. The law is that any person can accept a Presidential pardon, along with acceptance of their guilt.
So the person getting pardoned in not above the law.
It's the POTUS granting a pardon corruptly that is above the law - and THAT our Congress, DOJ and courts seem to be hell bent on enabling.
Biden's refusal to pardon his son, even as Trump abused that power by pardoning his co-conspirators and pals, was the right way. It was a tough way, because Trump gets away with being a shameless crook, while you have to do the right thing and watch your only son left go to jail.
Alas, Biden was not strong enough to do the right thing and this fundamentally corrupt act makes Trump's corrupt acts not just exception, but a new norm, which greatly undermines this country as being one where justice system is based on principles and law, not politics and corrupt personal favors.
This is a sad day for America and our exemplary role in the world.
If Hunter were anyone else, he would be in jail
Conversely, they elevated Trump's misdemeanor for bad bookkeeping into a felony
Get bent.
