There is no controlled trials on the efficacy of mask wearing in the general public. There is evidence that masks can stop transmission of pathogens in very close settings such as airplanes, medical facilities, hospitals and operating rooms where pathogens are most likely to be more dense and human to human touch is most likely. One of the most overlooked actions is keeping one's hands a clean as possible and away from one's face yet, we are told to mask-up indoors then we mask-down when leaving. This causes hand to face touching which is the preeminent way in which we infect ourselves. Yes, I'm sure that is true to an extent. But I also see far too much coordination of both WORDS and TIMING for it all just to be a coincidence. But what you are implying is a type of "gaslight gene," in other words, some form of organic brain damage that is both fairly common in occurance, triggered increasingly easily under modern circumstances, and which tends to always lead the infected individual to nearly the exact same place in psychology.
