Biden crushes US oil industry and Russia profits from it

And then there is this, 17% increase in US oil production since Feb of 2021....

Biden Shuts Down Keystone Pipeline, Removes Sanctions From Nord Stream 2, Then Imports Tons of Oil From Russia

To be fair, Biden is not just importing oil from Russia, he is importing oil from Iran also. But the bigger question might be what are the cuts for Hunter and The Big Guy? Someone is benefiting from all of this at the expense of Americans. Might as well go with the most likely ones first. Under Trump, this country reached energy independence for the first time, and under Biden, it has gone to hell in a handbasket.

Energynow.com reports:

One year since President Joe Biden cancelled approval for the Keystone XL pipeline from Canada, and the United States’ thirst for oil is as strong as ever and rising.

U.S. oil imports from Saudi Arabia and Russia have increased, and gasoline prices are higher than they have been in the last five years.

“[Keystone XL] was a missed opportunity to increase North American energy security, lower costs for American consumers and reduce dependence on foreign energy sources that are hostile to U.S. interests,” says Frank Macchiarola, senior vice-president with the American Petroleum Institute.

Renewable energy in the U.S. is growing, and demand for oil continues to surge.

Consumption in 2023 is expected to reach 17.2 million barrels per day, higher than before the COVID-19 pandemic, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration.

Before President Biden’s cancellation in January 2021, Canadian oil producers remained committed to Keystone XL despite waiting nearly 12 years for the project to go ahead.

In 2018, a decade after the first regulatory application, Keystone XL had 20-year shipping commitments for about 60 per cent of its capacity. In 2020, that increased to nearly 70 per cent.

The U.S. Gulf Coast is the world’s largest processing region for what is known as “heavy oil,” and Alberta is the world’s largest heavy oil producer.

“Keystone XL was probably one of the largest pipeline projects proposed that would have tied Canadian supply to the U.S. Gulf coast as a bullet train express,” says Kevin Birn, chief analyst, Canadian crude oil markets with consultancy IHS Markit.

The most recent data from the U.S. Energy Information Administration shows that in May, 844,000 barrels of oil were imported from Russia. This makes Biden the real Putin puppet. Was it for profit or for blackmail? We may never know, but we do know it was not done for the American people.

The Keystone Pipeline is just a way to get really bad and dirty sludge oil from western Canada to Texas. At 29 bucks a barrel, it's hard to give that crap away. The US normally ignores it when it finds it unless it's needed to make plastics and stuff like that. The US has a surplus of it already. The first thing you have to look at is whom benefits from it. That's easy. The two major investors is the Koch Brothers Industries and the Canadian Government. It would have created a total of 27 long term jobs, not the over 2000 it claimed. Communities would only have some benefit while the construction crew was in their area. Then the crew would move on down the line. Then there is the negatives. Outside of the fact that they were trying to force the pipeline to run over Native American Sacred Lands, the Koch Brothers Industries has the worst record of oil leakage from their pipelines. They were to build in such a way that any leak would have damaged the local water tables. It all comes down, the only benefits for it was to go to the Canadian Government and to the Koch Brothers Industries. The drawbacks went to anyone in it's path. The location that the sludge is at is right around 100 miles from the Canadian Pacific coast. They have been trucking and railing it that direct for some time. They have a port already used but it's the transportation costs. And the fact it dumps the bad parts of transporting that product to the US.

The reason that the US is buying a specific type of crude from Russia is that the US no longer buys it from Venezuela due to their actions. So it goes to the other producer of Russia. This product goes for 29 bucks a barrel is is barely profitable to be shipped. But it's used for low level production of some thing made of plastic. Yes, the sludge from Canada can be used for the same thing but the US would not be the buyer. It was to be transported down to the Texas Ports and then exported. The fact remains that even if it did slowly replace the Russian Oil, it would be years away because the facility in Alberta is incapable of producing that 880,000 barrels a day. It would have to be expanded dramatically.

The fact remains that the Keystone XL pipeline to carry that sludge is not the brightest idea in the pack. You want to build a pipeline to make a difference? How about that pipeline from Colorado to Oregon to carry Natural Gas to be sold in Asia. There are 5 states that would benefit from that who have an excess of Natural Gas.

Are you fucking blind? The chart shows it went from its peak under Trump to its low under Biden. My God your are retarded.

I am sorry you cannot read a chart, maybe you can find a 5th grader to read it for you.

The drop was in 2020 under Trump.

The yellow dot I put on the chart is Biden's first full month in office.

Now someone else will pay to ship it in a ship. Fucking brilliant.

Actually, that's going to be a good thing. It would mean that Canada screws up it's own environment instead of ours. The question comes to mind, what hasn't Canada built a 100 mile pipeline to their own western ports already?

Approvals for companies to drill for oil and gas on U.S. public lands are on pace this year to reach their highest level since George W. Bush was president, underscoring President Joe Biden’s reluctance to more forcefully curb petroleum production in the face of industry and Republican resistance.

The Interior Department approved about 2,500 permits to drill on public and tribal lands in the first six months of the year, according to an Associated Press analysis of government data. That includes more than 2,100 drilling approvals since Biden took office January 20.

Biden has approved more drilling on public lands than even Trump did!

U.S. to hold historic oil and gas lease sale days after COP26

The Biden administration today will offer leases to oil and gas companies on more than 80 million acres in the Gulf of Mexico — an area larger than New Mexico — days after a United Nations climate summit that aimed to phase out fossil fuel production worldwide.
  • Lease Sale 257, which was originally planned by the Trump administration, will be the largest offshore oil and gas lease sale in U.S. history.

“This administration went to Scotland and told the world that America’s climate leadership is back, and now it’s about to hand over 80 million acres of public waters in the Gulf of Mexico to fossil fuel companies,”
House Natural Resources Committee Chairman Raúl Grijalva (D-Ariz.) said in a statement

Oh cmon Golfing, you are better than this! The drop was because everyone was staying home due to COVID. Everything was shut down. When we restarted, Biden hasn't allowed production back up to its current level.

Wonder what the rule is when getting a lease on government land, and how much you are forced to pump. Got any idea? Or maybe the lease is based on the price of crude, wouldn't that be interesting!

Just for your info, last I read last year, frackers couldn't make money below 43, or 44 dollars a barrel. And so, and so, and so, lol.

You can try all you want, but this is all on Ho-Ho. Defend him if you want for political reasons, but he has screwed the pooch.

US oil production has gone up 17% since Feb, which is a faster growth rate than 2017-2018. At the current rate it will be back to where it was prior to the COVID drop by Oct of 2022.

I am only defending facts, nothing else. I would even say the rise is in spite of Biden and not because of him, but regardless, it is there and you cannot deny it.

Biden's self-inflicted energy crisis

According to the U.S. Energy Information Administration, heating costs for American families will increase by 54 percent this winter, making it the most expensive in over a decade. Given President Biden’s statements on the 2020 campaign trail, where he launched a war on domestic energy production, this was entirely predictable.

“The Biden campaign made a clear and unequivocal campaign promise to end fossil fuel leasing on public land,” Sierra Club Executive Director Michael Brune told The Washington Post shortly after Election Day.

Just hours after his inauguration, President Biden walked into the Oval Office and issued an executive order stopping construction on the Keystone XL pipeline. One week later, he followed through on promises made to halt new oil and gas leasing on federal land. The White House justified the moves as crucial to combating climate change. Currently, the administration is considering the shutdown of the L5 pipeline that runs from Canada to Michigan, which would further limit energy transport and supply.

Biden’s choice of Kamala Harris, the most progressive member of the Senate, as running mate was also a precursor. After all, Harris endorsed the Green New Deal with socialist Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.). They also co-sponsored the Climate Equity Act.

“It’s not about a cost. It’s about an investment,” Harris said about the push in 2019.

The cost is here and Americans are paying the price.

“I must tell you. I don’t have a near-term answer,” Biden said during a recent CNN town hall when asked about energy becoming more expensive. “It’s going to be hard.”

“That is hilarious. Would that I had the magic wand on this,” Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm told CNBC, laughing out loud when asked what her plans were to increase oil production in the U.S.

Despite claims to the contrary from Biden administration officials, the White House can control energy costs. We know this because it’s been done before.
