If the U.S. was still just an agrarian/pioneering/sea faring back water, I'd agree with you.
But we're an extremely complex modern post-industrial society, and we need a government that will legislate in accordance with the needs of the American people - not just in the interests of the wealthy.
Every piece of legislation increases our national debt, allows more govt agencies to spy on the populace, or enables some military adventure in the world. No thanks.
If we'd increase taxes on the wealthy legislation wouldn't increase the national debt.
So you agree with entitlements as long as they're paid for with taxes?
What do you have against being spied on? The government can spy on me all they want...you'd just have some incredibly bored government agents.
I agree that we spend WAY too much on the military...and get way too involved in other countries.
Let these countries elites deal with their problems themselves....maybe they'd have to serve their own people. But you'd have to live in a world full of communist & socialist countries.
