Biden and Newsom may have put GM out of business!!!!

The future is here but it just not evenly distributed.

Many families are 2 car families.

How many of yours are electric? Battery powered autos will be surpassed by hydrogen cell vehicles.

I've posted on that before; people will prefer hydrogen engines over electric. Electric is fine for bicycles and small commuter cars, but only as a second or third vehicle or a low speed car for teenagers and the like. They need to make cheap small models.

How do you get people to make a large-scale shift toward greener transportation (which would bring prices down for everyone) when most of them don't have the cash for that initial investment?

The obvious answer is to just make them cheaper — and that's exactly what France is doing.

At the COP21 Climate Conference in December 2015, French Minister of Economy Ségolène Royal announced a global competition to create a small electric car that will sell for less than $7,500 (about 7,000 euros).
To help keep costs down, the French government is encouraging the use of replaceable batteries (not unlike the innovative Gogoro Smart Scooter), which can be easily swapped out and replaced at designated charging stations throughout the country.

Presently, the next-best option in electric transportation (for those of us who can't afford a $45,000 Tesla) is India's e20, which costs around $15,000. The Renault ZOE is also available in France for around the same cost, plus 49 euros a month for battery rentals.

The battery swapping gimmick offered by one company is interesting. The ranges are still too short for American driving, though.

GM is on the ropes, financially. And guess who drove them to near ruin? Did you say it was Biden? Or was it Gavin Newsom? What about both of them?

It'd take a lot more than Prez. Hiden & Gov. Noosescum to tube GM like it just has to be the RUSSIANS!!!!!

Yeah, the UAW is a big part of that. Toyota is non union so that could be responsible for the price disparity. The Tundras are built in San Antonio. I bought my forever truck in 2011--F250 Super Duty. Still like new. No complaints

Yep, Toyota is non-unionized. They did raise their wages in the midst of the UAW strike, likely for fear of some workers jumping ship to GM or Ford for even more money, but they do pay a little less. The UAW is setting sights on Toyota in an attempt to unionized them too, so get ready for higher priced Toyota’s as well. The unions are led by the same dullards that use the “corporate greed” buzz words every chance they get. Ultimately they will destroy industry in the US as companies move more production overseas so they can beat their competitors in price.

At Toyota, skilled trade employees make a maximum of $43/hr. Line workers make a maximum of $34/hr. The UAW just negotiated a deal that will pay line workers a maximum of $40/hr. I assume skilled trade UAW salaries will increase as well. Look no further than this to see what is going on. Toyota prices are similar, if not a little lower than Ford or GM for comparable vehicles. Toyota’s are also higher quality. GM and Ford will likely lower their quality even further to accommodate for these pay increases and not increasing their prices. Unions are destructive, plain and simple.

lol these aren't even minimum wage, adjusted for real inflation. GM averages around 32 hours-34 hours labor per car. Average labor costs are less than $800 per car. Average transaction costs for GM cars'

The average transaction price for all GM models was $51,000 in calendar 2022, a substantial premium over the industry ATP of $49,507 last year, according to Cox Automotive.Jan 31, 2023

GM's average transaction price (ATP) edged to $51,431, 1.1% higher compared to the same quarter a year ago, according to Cox Automotive calculations. In a sign that overall price growth is slowing or even retreating a bit, GM's Q1 ATP is down from $52,849 in the last quarter of 2022.Apr 24, 2023

Any more bullshit lies about '$60 an hour assembly line workers, cuz unions'? Average pay of $22 an hour works out to about 1.4% of the average price they're sold for. The spend almost 3 times that just on advertising and buyer incentives alone.

MSN

So suddenly the MSM is accurate, but GM itself isn't? According to Toyota, their plant in San Antonio was paying around $3 an hour less than GM, which works out to about $102 per car less max. You really think you got a huge discount because they're 'non-union'? lol 0.2% didn't even show up in the price of your truck at retail level.

And just like magic zillion mega-watt solar and wind power plants will just jump up out of nowhere and supply all the juice! lol not.
You should do more visiting around. A personal solar panel will charge an ebike. That system will not be going away anytime soon because when the equipment is paid for, travel is near to $0.0 per mile. It only costs $0.25 per charge from the grid. Double battery ebike systems now have a 100 mile range, sans the mother-in-law and the family dog.

Monkeys like Musk are too greedy. Neither do they have the IQ to adjust for the many poor people. Instead of standardized batteries, Musk teams with BP for fast charging stations, which is still too slow. Pre-charged vending machines for standardized batteries will likely enter the ebike market before entering this other monstrosity.

The infrastructue can be added in a very fast time. All it takes is adding a hydrogen tank to your gas stations. What safety concerns? The tanks in the cars were especially designed not to be harmed even in a very serious traffic accident. These cars recharge as they drive them
Hydrogen tanks would need to be HUGE and they can also blow up. Ever see a car take out a gas pump? Imagine one taking out an entire city block by taking out a hydrogen pump!

As long as you don't want to ride it this month yes, they will, lol
You mouth off about something you've not done in three real-time dimensions? Especially this summer? You're one of those paranoids who sees the cup half emp-ty most of the time.

I doubt you mean that gasoline fires are safe.

Hydrogen has the same problem as EVs: No infrastructure!
EVs have more stations but hydrogen stations are being added daily.
As of May 2023, there are 167 publicly available hydrogen fuel stations in operation, and there are projected to be 181 locations by the end of this fiscal year.

You won't find me riding an E bike this century. And here at my sons home, he has one. And he does not use it at all.

EV demand is going to increase. GM is producing the Blazer EV and the Equinox EV next year. Equinox EV starts Round $32,000. It will sell well.

E bikes are useless here for six months out of the year. They have Lime bikes in Spokane. They are useful from May to Oct. but they are always fishing them out of the Spokane river. I don't know how they make any money.
