There are ways to get government assistance with the clean-up but that's only if the company goes under and cannot pay the full cost. There are other government programs to help the people affected but even those bills get sent to the responsible parties.

Bet Dementia would find a way to get them help if it were a Democrat supporting town.

This is a community where the average income is about 45K a year. They don't have time to wait years until a settlement with the railroad company is met. They need help now. People that don't have relatives in the area have to stay at expensive hotels and have to buy a hell of a lot of bottled water just to be on the safe side.

I think no matter who runs in the next election, Democrats lost our state already. I live around 100 miles or so of that town, and even I'm pissed about it.
