Iran has been around for 1000 years. The USA is less than 250 years old and is currently on very shaky ground, constitutionally. The USA shows every sign of being the country which won't be around much longer, having been taken over by a criminal oligarchy.

US economics as they are currently funded, are unsustainable, and headed toward bankruptcy. Investment is fleeing and the budget deficit is the highest in US history, and heading even higher.

It's not the Iranians who are incapable of fulfilling their obligations under their bilateral agreements. Trump has torn up every agreement he signed in his first Presidency, to the point where few countries are prepared to even negotiate with him.
