A toddler in Dearborn, Michigan “accessed a handgun” in a suburban home where several children were being cared for, police said. The weapon discharged, injuring two 3-year-olds who were present.

Gun locks are fine, if they aren't mandated by government and backed up with penalties that strip people of their right to own guns.....in Britain, if you get caught with an unlocked safe, you lose your guns...forever.

Gun education.....we promote it all the time, the NRA has put 30 million kids through their Eddie Eagle guns safety program....the problem is the anti gunners don't want these gun safety programs. One wonders why when they use dead kids to push their anti gun agenda.

And another point.....gun safes are a good thing to have...if they aren't mandatory.....because when they become mandatory the government can then tell you what kind of safe you have to have, and they can then set the requirement so high that normal people can't afford it...and for sure the poor people who can barely afford the gun, will not be able to afford the extra expense of the gun safe.

and then, another point.....if you allow the government to mandate gun safes....then they can have a reason for home inspections.....

Besides...gun lock mandates are unconstitutional according to the 2nd Amendment as defined by the Heller decision.
