I don't care what their political views are. I care that they are qualified to determine the curriculum.

If American kids were so badly educated, capitalism wouldn't have the workers it needed to be successful in technology.

The real reason that a lot of American don't get well educated is that it doesn't take much brains to be a business person. Those that want to go into fields that require being well-educated get well educated by our schools. Their are plenty of high quality engineers, scientists, chemists, lawyers & Doctors coming out of American schools.

Either way saying that if the U.S. has a second rate educational system means that we should allow school's curriculum to be dictated by a bunch of idiots, is absolute nonsense.

If you want to improve education in the U.S., then maybe we should increase teachers pay and benefits to attract more capable teachers. That's how your beloved capitalist system works.

The U.S. has the largest, most diverse and most innovative economy the world has ever known.

We must be doing something right.

Somehow the idea of having our curriculums determined by a bunch of politically motivated bible thumping jack-asses isn't going to improve education. Banning books and censoring education so our students do not learn the truth isn't going to improve education.

Paying teachers better so that we attract higher quality teachers WILL improve our educational system.
