Why are there two different terms if they mean the same thing?

So how old is a fetus? Considering it hasn't been born yet. How is it a baby?
I don't believe a God. There is no baby. It is a human fetus. Not considered a child until it is viable. The fetus rely's completely on the mother. So there is a relationship.

If a fetus is a baby, how come we don't count them in the census.

If a fetus is a baby how come we don't have a funeral and bury them when there is a miscarriage?
The reason is, a fetus is not a baby.
There is an example of the problem.
To you, abortion has nothing to do with religion. IO respect that. To me, it, too has nothing to do with religion. I am not overly religious.
However, to the religious right, abortion is directly related to their belief. They do not believe in killing an unborn child and they believe conception is when life begins.
I disagree, but I respect it. I will never frown on one who is against abortion for religious reasons.
But I am pro choice non the less.
If it's someones religious belief then they have a choice too. I respect that in that they choose, in their personal life, not to have an abortion. I have no problem with that, the problem I have is the zealot parts that are forcing their religious beliefs on others.
What about the people who don't have religious beliefs, but still want to make abortion illegal? Does their argument that human life means more than a woman's convenience amount to fording their religion on others? r are you jst pretending that the issue is religion to avoid the larger implications of killing a child?

Regardless of the stage of development, this embryo, zygote, fetus, baby, toddler, child, teenager, adult, senior, etc, is human. That's the point.
But as you've pointed out above. A fetus is not a baby. A fetus is a stage in the development cycle, but it's not yet a baby. So to call someone a baby killer because they had an abortion is disingenuous at best.
So being human is about the only things the two have in common. I mean Human sacrifices were huge rituals for those cultures. Big, note worthy events. Abortions, meh, I'm sure the participants would rather go unnoticed. Mr. Carson is just using inflammatory rhetoric with that stupid comparison to light a fire under his ever decreasing base.

If it's someones religious belief then they have a choice too. I respect that in that they choose, in their personal life, not to have an abortion. I have no problem with that, the problem I have is the zealot parts that are forcing their religious beliefs on others.
