I'm sure both will make a passable waffle but I can see right away that my money is on the Waring.
Without even trying them thats where the Wife and I are leaning.
Being able to replace the grates is a huge factor.

Sure. As soon as the grates start going bad in the other one, the whole thing is toast.
I can tell you this: when the ALD makes a waffle, the surface of it will be open and porous, allowing it to break easier and absorb liquids faster, cooling faster and getting soggy easier whereas the Waring will bake a waffle with closed cells making for easier removal, stronger waffles and more able to hold up under various sauces, butters, syrups and ice cream, plus the user experience will just be more pleasant to operate.
Owning two, new waffle irons. And what would that have to do with anything?
Ooooh, that sounds good.I've seen all kinds of stuff put in a waffle iron.
I'm looking forward to running cornbread dressing through it.
I've got a cheapo waffle iron that's deeper than standard waffles, but not deep enough for Belgian. The plates just pop out for cleaning, which I love.
I like to put Pillsbury cinnamon roll dough in it. Turns out fantastic.
Yes, I invented it. Every time you make them, you have to give me a dollar.OMFG!!!! Why have I never thought of that?????!!!!!!
You're a genius!!!
Welp,no reviews to day.
Stayed up to late and had a few to many adult beverages.
