BTW it's also forbidden in Judaism and Christianity, Crack an Old Testament once in a while buddy.
Wrong. Old Testament laws do not apply to Christians. Crack a New Testament once in a while, buddy.
Galatians 3:21-24. Need more? Romans 3:20, then flip over to Romans 7:7. 1 Timothy 1:9,10
If people want to live according to the OT, they should simply convert to Judaism, because they're ignoring the very purpose of the life of Christ.
1 Timothy 1 New International Version (NIV)
1 Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the command of God our Savior and of Christ Jesus our hope,
2 To Timothy my true son in the faith:
Grace, mercy and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord.
Timothy Charged to Oppose False Teachers
3 As I urged you when I went into Macedonia, stay there in Ephesus so that you may command certain people not to teach false doctrines any longer 4 or to devote themselves to myths and endless genealogies. Such things promote controversial speculations rather than advancing God’s work—which is by faith. 5 The goal of this command is love, which comes from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith. 6 Some have departed from these and have turned to meaningless talk. 7 They want to be teachers of the law, but they do not know what they are talking about or what they so confidently affirm.
8 We know that the law is good if one uses it properly. 9 We also know that the law is made not for the righteous but for lawbreakers and rebels, the ungodly and sinful, the unholy and irreligious, for those who kill their fathers or mothers, for murderers, 10 for the sexually immoral, for those practicing homosexuality, for slave traders and liars and perjurers—and for whatever else is contrary to the sound doctrine 11 that conforms to the gospel concerning the glory of the blessed God, which he entrusted to me.
Timothy says that the law is fine if used properly. He says that the law is for lawbreakers. But all laws man made or biblical, are for law breakers aren't they? Lets go back to where we started to see who the lawbreakers are.
Romans 3:23-24
for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,24 and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.
It would seem all of us are the law breakers except Christ himself. The NT does not abolish the law but demotes it and makes it a guideline to be used properly for whatever circumstances arise. Christ however gives us grace and freedom to bend the law if need be. Jesus highlighted this when he healed on the Sabbath and therefore breaking the law by working. Here Jesus uses the law properly while those around him were slaves to the law.
Mark 3:1-6New International Version (NIV)
Jesus Heals on the Sabbath
3 Another time Jesus went into the synagogue, and a man with a shriveled hand was there. 2 Some of them were looking for a reason to accuse Jesus, so they watched him closely to see if he would heal him on the Sabbath. 3 Jesus said to the man with the shriveled hand, “Stand up in front of everyone.”
4 Then Jesus asked them,
“Which is lawful on the Sabbath: to do good or to do evil, to save life or to kill?” But they remained silent.
5 He looked around at them in anger and, deeply distressed at their stubborn hearts, said to the man,“Stretch out your hand.” He stretched it out, and his hand was completely restored. 6 Then the Pharisees went out and began to plot with the Herodians how they might kill Jesus.
