Be Prepared....I had a stove fire this morning

Wasnt long ago i had accidentally bumped my gas on my stove in RV. Gas alarm went off or id been screwed.

When my old one went out it false alarmed all the time. I almost threw it out and not replace it.

I did put in new one. Saved my ass literally.

Sorry about the drama, but it looks like you handled it. If you have any big house fans you can set them up for venting, it's hard in this heat, and change your hvac filters after you get settled.

It's all good now....Repairs completed and I did a lot of long overdue upgrades inside and out.

The insurance payout was a bit more reasonable than I expected but it just amounted to allowances on things I ended up upgrading. About the only real total renovation was the cabinets.

I put in new vinal flooring through the whole house, had the whole house interior repainted, tossed all the old upstairs furniture and bought new.

Went ahead and put all new Anderson windows and doors in.

Put a new deck on with a dry space system under it so I could enjoy my patio more in the rain.

LOL.....I think I spent around 90K out of pocket. Oh well, that will last me till i take my dirt nap.

Oh, one thing I found out....When I went to hire a contractor none of the local contractors wanted anything to do with insurance repairs if they had to depend on a insurance company (any company) as far as getting them paid.

The one I hired said they have enough work as it is and simply don't need the hassle of dealing with them.....Good thing I had my own money.
