Balloon Down

Biden declared he gave the military 'PERMISSION' to shoot the balloon down days ago.

'I left it up to Miley and told him to get back to me on what he decided.'

Bullshit!

The US military is not given the OPTION to decide on their own whether to shoot down another nation's aircraft.

Such a decision would be made by the President, his VP, the Secretary of State, and others on his Cabinet / advisory team.

Once the decision was made to do so the f*ing COMMANDER AND CHIEF would give the ORDER to do so to his generals who would order the mission to.be carried out.

Is Biden saying he is NOT in command, NOT THE President / Commander and Chief, that he surrenders his authority to the military to make such a decision?

Maybe his handlers know he is so cognitively impaired they don't let him make such important decisions

Bwuhahahaha :auiqs.jpg:

Leave it to Biden to find a way to look weaker in this whole debacle.

Xi and our enemies were already making fun of Biden and the US BEFORE Biden said he allowed someone else to decide what to do with China's spycraft.

Good gosh, what a clown show.

Biden said 'authorized' - the news say he 'ordered' the shootdown. BIG DIFFERENCE! Sounds like the media is trying to save him.

According to Biden he told our troops to shoot the balloon down on Wednesday. Has he ever told the truth in his life though?

Don't forget ... There is nothing wrong with your Television set.
Do not attempt to adjust the picture.
THEY are controlling transmission.THEY will control the
horozontal.They will control the vertical.
They can change the focus to a soft blur or sharpen it to
crystal clarity. Do not let some balloon upset your daily routine.

To make sure only US Naval assets could get there hands on it. Not two Cletis' drinking beer in the woods, taking pieces of it home to their garages.

Sorry to pop your bubble Cletis.

This is the best excuse yet!
Congratulations!

The Pentagon hinted it's spy gathering capability was disabled. But there is no way they could no that for sure. If China could still steer it (obviously they could) then other electronics were still working as well.
Flying all the way across the country they gathered ENORMOUS data.
For instance, close to where we live is one of the largest bomb manufacturing plants in the Naval fleet. You cannot see it on Google Maps. Google Planet or any other navigation software... it appears as green fields. It is not green fields.
Their flight path would have taken them over this area? Probably... and if so they have the exact location of every facility there.
And that is just one.
This is incredible. I 100% believe that not even Obama would have allowed this to occur.
We are indeed the weakest America since before WW II.

Gorbachev could only dream his plan to destroy America by creating a generation of useful idiots would work so well. China is more than happy to ride along.

a massive balloon flying above Montana has captured the headlines US government officials say it's a reconnaissance vehicle but China's foreign ministry said Friday that it is a civilian airship mainly doing meteorological research here's what we know about this so called spotlight balloon and how it compares to the normal weather balloons first let's start with how they are similar both are powered by the wind and at the mercy of the jet stream but there's a big difference in just how long they're in the air and how far they can travel despite balloon has been tracked for several days soaring over Alaska and Canada before reaching the northern tier of the U. S. weather balloons remain in the air for just a couple of hours and often travel just 100 miles then there's the size difference the surveillance balloon is estimated to be as big as the new buses where as a weather balloon starts out at just 6 feet in diameter and expands as it rises maxing out at 20 feet across their purpose is to measure pressure temperature and relative humidity and while we don't know the purpose of this spy balloon or what it could be recording as it flies high above commercial airspace government officials say it poses no threat and they have no plans to shoot it down

You do understand it was government officials who told you if you got the shot and boosters you couldn’t get Covid right?

that fucker flew over three bases... I at least call that suspiciously bold.
Smart . More often please .

Which is why you know that the balloon was not shot down in the way described.
People are so gullible and stupid.
DYOR

The Chinese have been messing with lidar technology a lot lately. Lidar uses pulsed lasers to measure small variations in terrain to uncover hidden shapes and structures. It also has a knack for cutting through forest canopy and other obstructions. The problem with lidar is that the platforms commonly used to carry the apparatus are faster moving and only capture a snapshot in time. Also, it cannot see through thick clouds, dust, rain, snow or fog.
NASA and DARPA have both been testing lidar from balloons as a means to keep the lasers in the sky longer above a specific area. The Chinese balloon also looks somewhat similar to the equipment used on European lidar balloon experiments.
A lidar based spy balloon would explain Chinese interest in Eastern Montana, where there are numerous known nuclear missile silos as well as suspected hidden silos. The Chinese balloon did in fact come near at least one known nuclear missile base near Billings. Lidar could be exploited to find hidden bases in the region.

Multispectral Imaging

Much like Lidar, multispectral imaging tech is highly dependent on the platform that it is mounted on. MI is used to measure wavelengths of light that are not visible to the human eye and it is tested in many scientific applications. However, there are military applications, including using MI to discover hidden variations in terrain that do not match the surrounding environment. In other words, its meant to sniff out camouflaged buildings, vehicles, fighting positions, etc.
China launched two satellites for multispectral imaging in 2019 and may now be trying to test the same equipment on balloons. It’s hard to say if they are looking for a unique target, or if they are just establishing baseline image maps to be used in the future for…who knows?
