Schumer nor the Republicans are the point of the issue. The issue is that Trump is planning to not pay federal workers that were furloughed because the parties could not agree on a deal and the government shut down.

This is about Trump (the ruler of the government) deciding on his own who he will pay and not pay for the work they did. It is against the law!
