Attention People who leap to judgments very quickly - The Palisades blaze? Visual evidence points to a recent fire nearby

They can't. Decades of mismanagement caught up with them

About 30 minutes after the Palisades fire started on Tuesday, the firefighters’ radio crackled: the flames were coming from a familiar sliver of a mountain ridge.

“The foot of the fire started real close to where the last fire was on New Year’s Eve,” said a Los Angeles County firefighter, according to a Washington Post review of archived radio transmissions.

“It looks like it’s going to make a good run,” one chimed into the dispatch.

The Post’s analysis of photos, videos, satellite imagery and radio communications, plus interviews with witnesses, offers new evidence that the Palisades fire started in the area where firefighters had spent hours using helicopters to knock down a blaze six days earlier.

Investigators from state and federal agencies descended on this area in recent days, interviewing residents and looking for evidence – including around the burn scar of the New Year’s Eve fire – of what sparked the fire.

I would just like to know how this asshole (likely just one of several) ...running around starting fires with what was effectively a flamethrower in the form of a blowtorch, was let go because ''there was not enough probable cause to arrest this person on arson or suspicion on arson''

One witness told Fox 11 that the suspect was “very focused on moving forward” with what they described as being more like a blowtorch.

“He was like, ‘I can’t stop. I can’t stop. I’m not putting this down. I’m doing this,'” the witness said.

None of that addresses the weather and the facts on the ground.

you sound like this imbecile: “The fires are still raging in L.A.,” Mr. Trump wrote on his Truth Social site. “The incompetent pols have no idea how to put them out.”

None of that has to do with why or how the fire started. But thank you.
No one bleevs a thing you post.

They know.

Dear low information, uninformed miscreant,

“It’s going to go out when it runs out of fuel, or when the weather stops,” Lentini said. “They’re not going to put that thing out
until it’s ready to go out.” -- John Lentini, owner of Scientific Fire Analysis in Florida, who has investigated large fires in California including the Oakland Hills Fire in 1991, said the size and scope of the blaze doesn’t change the approach to finding out what caused it.
They were trying to control a huge amount of fuel burning with a small amount of water (comparatively speaking) when they should have been controlling a small amount of fuel (the houses) with a large amount of water.

I'm talking about the little fire that grew into a huge fire. You see, if you put it out when it's small it doesn't get big. That said that small fire should have been met with overwhelming force (LOTS of water). Instead they chose to send a knife to a gun fight.

Deflection. That's all this has been on your part. .. and if a Republican cuts the budget on the fire dept the way Newsome did, you'd be screaming bloody murder.

The Kenneth fire. Do you even know where that is? And how it has nothing to do with the other fires?

And the mental case has not been charged. Wasn't that your defense of some Trump crimes

Newsom is governor. He is not Mayor of LA
Well gee whiz.. I guess that means President GW Bush gets no blame for Hurricane Katrina becuz he didn't start it and he's not the mayor of New Orleans.

Bush got blamed for his actions and responses to the tragedy.

Like after fires started what did the Governor and Mayor have to do with the weather

We are here - back again -- Because facts matter. Think of it as a public service.

There exist sources of information that are available to all of us. Some are credible, some are not, and some are incomplete. People are not always aware of how what they choose to absorb and later distribute isn't always credible, factual - truth.
"According to a study published Wednesday (October 9, 2024), in the journal Plos One, it comes down to believing you have all the information you need to form an opinion, even when you don’t."
quote: “People are more open-minded and willing to change their opinions than we assume,” *Fletcher said. However, “this same flexibility doesn’t apply to long-held differences, such as political beliefs.” .
“Our brains are overconfident that they can arrive at a reasonable conclusion with very little information,” said Angus Fletcher, a professor of English at Ohio State University, who co-wrote the study.

What caused the Palisades blaze? Visual evidence points to a recent fire nearby

Did New Year’s Eve fireworks start the largest Los Angeles fire?

Today at 12:31 p.m. EST
PACIFIC PALISADES, CALIFORNIA—About 30 minutes after the Palisades Fire started on Tuesday, the firefighters’ radio crackled: The flames were coming from a familiar sliver of a mountain ridge.

“The foot of the fire started real close to where the last fire was on New Year’s Eve,” said a Los Angeles County firefighter, according to a Washington Post review of archived radio transmissions.

“It looks like it’s going to make a good run,” one chimed into the dispatch.

The Post’s analysis of photos, videos, satellite imagery and radio communications, as well as interviews with witnesses, offers new evidence that the Palisades Fire started in the area where firefighters had spent hours using helicopters to knock down a blaze six days earlier.

Investigators from state and federal agencies descended on this area in recent days, interviewing residents and looking for evidence — including around the burn scar of the New Year’s Eve fire — of what sparked the blaze.

The Post’s analysis showed that the new fire started in the vicinity of the old fire, raising the possibility that the New Year’s Eve fire was reignited, which can occur in windy conditions, experts said.

Residents also told The Post and investigators on scene that firefighters’ response on Tuesday was much slower than on New Year’s Eve — a view confirmed by radio transmissions.
Suffice to say, fires are either started by nature or by humans. Nature can shine sunlight through a water drop which magnifies the sunlight. Or a person(s) can deliberately or accidentally start a fire.

Then you have a risk assessment and action plan that if there's a fire, infrastructure and housing are not destroyed.

So the fires are always in two parts. The first one will always happen, so what are the authorities doing to implement the second part?

Bush got blamed for his actions and responses to the tragedy
DING DING DING DING.. we have a winner folks....
Newsome gets the blame for his actions and responses to the tragedy....
Thank you for making our point for us.

I'm just observing the national public mood on this.

No one wants a politician that will put small fish and DEI ahead of public safety.

Sorry you have a problem with reality.

and I know people were warned. I live in LA.

Fire officials: Avoid NYE fireworks due to dry, windy conditions

"Your celebration could cause someone's worst day of their life," said Capt. Sheila Kelliher Berkoh with the L.A. County Fire.

and...

From Colorado to California to Hawaii, flare-ups of previous fires, known as reignition, have been the cause of some of the nation’s most catastrophic and deadly wildfires. This past summer, California officials co-ordinated a social media campaign to warn residents that terrain scorched but seemingly extinguished can spawn deadly new fires for weeks after the old ones appear to have gone out because fire can smoulder almost undetected under ground or inside wood.
