They can do MORE damage with homemade explosives or poisons than they can with guns. Anybody can screw together some pcs of pipe (2 ends sharpened) and kill dozens of little kids, trapped in a building. However, an elderly man or a petite woman DOES need a gun to defend against a single agile male. If 2 guys throw fist siized rocks, one in each hand, from 6-8 ft away (changing hands, same times as the other guy) even Bruce lee couldn't handle it.
