Army raises maximum enlistment age to 42

Come on boot licker, your posts are getting dumber by the minute. See this is what your simple ass doesn't understand, the VA doesn't give us anything, we EARNED it. I am willing to bet the farm that I pay more in taxes every year then your leeching ass does. Just by you telling me your kids are too young to serve in the military, shows me just how young and dumb your ass is. I have 2 adult children who are both college graduates, now run and post that.

I doubt a 42 year old would put up with the same shit that an 18 year old would.
On the contrary, in the average workplace the average youngster these days does NOT like being told what to do. The most recent 20-something generation (on average) seems to have a sense of entitlement and thinks they are in the level with people far more experiences than they are. I doubt it would be that different in the military. People closer to 42 have learned the value of discipline and respect for experience and authority. They're also much less wild and impulsive. You could argue that the high percentage of 20-somethings who are entitled punks with no respect would even join the military either.

In a sweeping change to its enlistment regulations, the Army has raised the maximum age for eligible recruits to 42, the service announced.

Changes highlighted in the memo, which was distributed this week and will go into effect in April, also include the removal of previous enlistment obstacles for recruits who have a single marijuana or drug paraphernalia conviction.

Does raising the minimum age for military volunteers increase or diminish the possibility of reinstating a military draft?

"The U.S. military currently operates as an all-volunteer force, with no active conscription (draft) since 1973.

"However, nearly all male U.S. citizens and residents aged 18–25 must register with the Selective Service System, which serves as a contingency plan for national emergencies.

"Reinstating the draft requires authorization from Congress."
