In a sweeping change to its enlistment regulations, the Army has raised the maximum age for eligible recruits to 42, the service announced.

The Navy and Air Force are already at 42 to enlist. It allows them to get 20 years in before their mandatory retirement date.

LOL....Before you rush to the Army recruiting office you need to remember....IEDs fly now. ;)

Jokes aside I can see it for some fit guy who's ex took everything from him in a divorce and he wants to start over.

So all those now on USMB who are so pro-War can go down to the recruiting station to enlist in Trump’s War. What are you all waiting for?

Well done. It was literally on the front page.

Aren’t you the guy who always razzes other posters for creating threads that already exist?

Frankly, the problem with raising the bar to 42 is that a 42 year old simply isn't as pliable as an 18 year old.

When I was 18, I believed whatever bullshit the Drill Sergeants would have told me.

At 42, I would have looked at these guys sideways (and they'd probably be younger than I am.)

They also took away the smoking pot restriction from what I hear.

We can't find anyone to join. Who would join the military with a mad man? Only young maga mad men who are suckers and losers. Most MAGA men go to college or have bone spurs

Starting April 20, 2026, the U.S. Army is updating its enlistment policies to allow individuals with a single conviction for marijuana possession or drug paraphernalia to join without needing a waiver. This change is part of a broader effort to expand the recruiting pool amid ongoing challenges in meeting personnel goals.

Did they test for that before?
I remember during the Iraq war Bush was giving illegals American citizenship if they joined. That's how bad things got. Lucky for him he had a shitty economy so that got a lot of poor suckers and losers to sign up.

So a lot of hispanic gang members go into the military. Lots of former military in biker gangs and Hispanic gangs. Our government trains them.

Oh yea, and this:

The Department of War is giving service members who involuntarily separated for refusing to take the COVID-19 vaccine another year to apply for reinstatement.

Hey guys, we will give you one more year to come back but that's it. Sounds like a guy after his girlfriend dumps him. He writes her a letter "last chance Sheila. You got 1 year to leave that guy and come back to me"
