Are You REAL ID Ready?

Do you support proof of citizenship to register to vote like the new SAVE alAct?

I'm not for the SAVE Act. What libs like you and many Republicans don't realize is that legislation like that is never what it's purported to be about. But I really don't feel like spelling it all out right now. Maybe later, because real life is calling at the moment.

I edited my post with "some older" passports. If you don't have the newer document with a barcode, you will have to upgrade to the newer version. In all actuality, it's less money and hassle to just get a Real ID.
Remember, renew early because nations won't take them up to six months before expiration.

No.

You should have to prove citizeship to register to vote.

Why?

You shouldn't need to register to vote.

Not sure what the big deal is. There are other ways of tracking you.
There is no more "off the grid". They know who and where you are. :)
This direction was not preordained. People in power caused this over many many decades. And citizens did nothing to stop it. Social justice rights became paramount shoved to the point where DEI had to be enforced and now, we are arguing about children in schools and women's sports wasting time and money. Unalienable rights. Everywhere we go in public is advancing rapidly to surveillance. With professional and nonprofessional surveilling, mocking and destroying people. It is hard to forgive this. So, we have a Global Entry driver's license. A little closer to the dystopian dictatorship. The elites caused much of the real chaos we see in our nation today. And use it to tighten the screws.

I agree with what Thomas Massie, Catherine Austin Fitts and others have said about this. This is about control and it's just another way for our federal government to track legal citizens.
Exactly what I have been saying since coming to this forum.

REAL ID was enacted by Dubya and the GOP Congress way back in 2005. It has been delayed several times.

Here's a post from 2014:
Once we have the entire population carrying federally approved papers, under the pretense of Voter ID, it will be easier to control the movements of the population.

REAL ID Act of 2005.

And now a message from the Department of Fatherland Security:

Secure driver's licenses and identification documents are a vital component of a holistic national security strategy. Law enforcement must be able to rely on government-issued identification documents and know that the bearer of such a document is who he or she claims to be.

Papers! Papers, please!

the license is harder to fake. What is the problem with that?
No, it is no harder to fake.

You know what the difference between an old driver's license and a REAL ID driver's license is?

A star inside a black circle on the REAL ID.

Back in the bad old days of the Soviet Union, we conservatives used to brag it took three forms of ID to travel across the USSR while it took no papers to travel across the USA.

I could hop on a train or bus and travel coast-to-coast and never have to present papers.

Now every movement is tracked when you use your debit or credit card or make a phone call. All of it is recorded, and not just when they are looking for someone.

This is done at all times. Even your internet use is recorded.

All done without a warrant.

I just noticed that a couple threads were already posted on this topic in the last few months. But since Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem just made an announcement yesterday, I figured I'd post a new thread.

I agree with what Thomas Massie, Catherine Austin Fitts and others have said about this. This is about control and it's just another way for our federal government to track legal citizens. Under the guise of immigration reform. But if people don't object, it's not going to stop there. Make no mistake about that.

Easy-peasy.

I don't fly.

Have fun, y'all.

And if you're not doing anything wrong...................................

First, this did not originate with Trump. It's been in the works for years.

Second, it is all pretty stupid. All you do is present the same info you presented when you got your license before and you get the new one noted as the new designation.

I have no plans on flying so I'll not bother until my current license expires.

The fact Trump did not start this does not make it any better.
It is not the "same info".
It is not at all easy to get a copy of my birth certificate any more, since I moved.
And passports are very expensive.
