Eagle beak, the GOP isn't going anywhere this fall except to the minority corner again. It isn't that the Dems are the majority's darling, it is the GOP is the rich girl that stood the average Joe up. The American people have not forgiven the Pubs because the Pubs have not apologized for what they have done to the country since 1994.

dream on. Obama got elected because the GOP was driving the bus when the financial crisis hit. The same will hold true for Obama. His famous quotes like "energy costs necessarily need to skyrocket" won't help his cause. Neither will the dems' policies.

I believe that the voters will see the truth if the GOP gets a good candidate in 2012. The dems' policies are their problem, especially the ones that caused the financial crisis, like the Community Reinvestment Act, repealing Glass-Steagall, doubling the Debt after campaigning on reducing it, etc.

Who drove the bus the last few years? Is the country better-off now than it was 2 or 4 years ago? I'm pretty sure I know how voters will answer that one.

I'm not a RINO, but I'm not a fool either. IMHO Obama winning sent a clear message to the GOP...it was the same as rubbing their noses in their record: The "service economy" is a hoax (we meed to rebuild our manufacturing base), passing the "American Jobs Creation Act" (whereby they created tax breaks for moving jobs overseas was a bad idea), and to actually practice conservatism, don't just preach about it.

As for a good candidate in 2012, Mitt Romney is the one I'd like to see. He's one of the sharpest minds, I don't know if he'd has the aggressiveness he'll need in the debates. Then again, the MSM would probably spin it as "Romney a mean-spirited racist for absolutely crucifying Obama in presidential debates".

One can make the same argument about every criminal ever pardoned. Looking at the crimes we have, crossing the board without a work permit or failing to renew a visa is pretty minor. Many of those that are here were brought here as children. Many were wives following husbands. Still others were brought here by farmers with assurances that they would be provided papers. This was common in 80's and 90's when we welcomed all that cheap labor.

Taking a child away from criminal parents is never cruel and is always in the best interests of the child. Better that than let the parents teach their kids to be criminals just like them. A child of an illegal immigrant that was born here is still a child of an illegal immigrant in my opinion this child is also an illegal immigrant. this child should not be given citizenship. here is an analogy for every one. The 14th Amendment was set up for the slaves having citizenship and was never meant to benefit the illegals who have popped out an anchor baby.

I think just about everybody would like to see illegal immigrants pack their bags and leave. But we know that's not going to happen. It's counterproductive to maintain this insane idea that we are going to round up and deport 10 or 15 million people. The cost of deportation alone is estimated at $41 billion/yr. and it would take a number of years. The cost could run in the hundreds of billions. Then there's the cost to businesses of replacing cheap illegal immigrant labor. Contrary to what many believe, a large segment of the illegals pay social security tax and income tax via payroll deduction, which will be lost income for the fed. Removing large numbers from communities means lose of sales taxes and lose sales to local businesses. But the most significant reason why mass deportations will not occur is the media. You can imagine the stories of broken homes and families that would be on TV every evening.

Real Immigration reform is the only practical way to solve the problem.
