Are you generally for or against tariffs?

I'm all in for tariffs, in fact, our country was totally financed by tariffs in the beginning. No income tax, just tariffs. Tariffs protect American jobs and keep our country competitive with slave labor countries. Protectionism is good for the worker but bad for the stock market. That's a good thing. And then you have those people who always chirp about "we won't be able to afford anything because the price will be too high". That's more bullshit. Sellers will always charge what the market will bear, regardless of the price of production. Free trade is a bunch jive-ass bullshit, designed to maximize profits at the worker's and consumer's expense. Now I have to hide because I see a lobbyist coming. MAGA

Tariffs are just a tax that has been given a different name to make people support it.

Tariffs are about control, giving the Govt more of it. I think this is a bad thing, most people don't.

The chi-coms will make something to the standard in which they are paid to make something.

You want a dirt cheap retail price then you get a cheap product.

The chi-com Winchester Model 97 shotgun clones come to mind.....There have been generations of $200.00 '97 clones that went from barely functional to meh.....All were ugly with their yellowish Chu-Wood stocks.

Then SASS (The Single Action Shooting Society) went to the chi-coms and had them make a run of "97" clones (both trench guns and standard) to SASS standards for their Wild Bunch shoots.

The Chi-Coms even imported the walnut to make the stocks....It resulted in a clone with a high degree of fit and finish with polished internals.....But yeah, it cost $700.00+.

IAC/Norinco 97T.

That there are many that will want China to be the leader over the traitors of what the United States has become. That is vengeance. And the kicker is, many on your side will complete that task. China is going to be the world leader within a couple of decades.
What does any of that even mean? Your first sentence is absolutely incoherent. China is going to be the world leader in what?

Tariffs are great for producer nations, not so great for consumer ones....

Yes, that is why Trump is for FAIR trade not free trade. The repercussions of free trade caused things like foreign steel dumping hindering our steel production which has bad implications for our defense. In a stable economy, prices are a function of wages and what people can afford.

I favor tariffs, especially tariffs on exports. Export tariffs tend to made domestic goods cheaper since they inflate domestic supply (it's harder to sell the products internationally). It's also harder for businesses to pass on the costs to domestic consumers, unlike import tariffs.
