It is merely one point on the continuum of human behavior. And in the sense that there have always been some humans engaging in sexual behavior then it is indeed normal for a percentage of the population to engage in homosexuality.

The intense desire to take the life of another is natural, but considered abnormal and we examine the brains of those who feel that way.

To my knowledge a rapist has never used animal behavior as justification for his behavior in raping women saying that rape is normal and natural. I have heard men use bear behavior to justify leaving the cubs and their mother. A male impregnating a female and leaving immediately thereafter is both normal and natural - for bears. Therefore it is normal and natural for men who should not be expected to stick around. Both behaviors are part of the human condition but not normal.

Schizophrenia is a natural aberration in the human brain, it is not normal. Neither is homosexuality. Homosexuality is, however, benign. It stays benign until it demands to accommodation of otherwise normal people to consider the abnormality just another form of normalcy. Sort of like the way it would work if we had to consider the behavior of schizophrenics perfectly normal behavior and accommodate it.

Murder is not abnormal human behavior. It might not be acceptable but it is not abnormal.

People have been killing each other since we first stood upright and there have been times where outright murder was acceptable.

Not accepting abnormality is not the same thing as persecution. No one is denied the right to love whom they choose. Not accepting abnormality is simply not accommodating the abnormality and forcing everyone to accept it as normal behavior.

I don't think it can be stopped now. Homosexuals can look forward to a brief period of time when their relationships are accommodated, then the inevitable pogroms of murder. Sad, because it doesn't have to happen.
