Russia has about 1700 deployable nuclear weapons. The rest would have to be delivered by bombers which would never get close enough to harm us. We have no idea how many of these weapons would actually work, since Russian defectors have informed us that their nuclear arsenal is many decades old and in dire need of repair.

What if they take out the key communication satellites? The largest electricity generators? America might inflict more damage on Russia in a nuclear war but who would want to live in post-war America? Plus, as I said before, when America gets damaged by nuclear weapons, it makes it damn easy for the Chinese to just walk in and take everything.
