How often do you hear about EMT's killing someone. I've never heard such a story. Probably happened once or twice, but suffice to say it's rare. Because killing, bullying, ruining lives isn't what they get up in the morning to do
People become cops because they enjoy the exercise of power over others. That isn't something that good people enjoy.
In all fairness cops rarely kill people. Here are the facts:
There are roughly 800,000 police officers in the US
In 2019 1,004 people were killed by a police officer. This includes justifiable killings (such as killing an active shooter).
That means that just 0.001% of police officers kill somebody in the line of duty every year. That number includes all killings-not just examples where the police were crossing the line.
I'm not saying that we don't have issues with the police in our country...but to say that police killings aren't rare just isn't supported by the evidence at hand.
