I worked in a middle school with 90% black population teaching 8th grade math for two years, including summer school when I was also an administrator. I worked for both a black female principal and a black male principal.

I attended Prairie View University where the student population is almost all black, and completed half of my Masters of Ed. Admin. degree with only one white professor. At PVTAM I met the author of Amazon.com: Beneath the Skin of Black Folks (9780972972703): Tracy Andrus: Books

Sounds to me like you have somewhat of an intimate experience with black folks on various level. Would that be a correct assessment?

Well, unhappily, not as intimate an experience as I would like......but that's another thread.

Beneath The Skin of Black Folks is a poorly edited (Andrus claims this wasn't intentional, but it adds a heluva lot of "tone" to what would otherwise be much less effective), no-holds barred description of Tracy Andrus' World. He must be forgiven for the title, because it implies that he speaks for Many, if not ALL, black folks. However, combined with my experiences with black folks, it allowed me to understand SOME of their attitudes and behaviour.

Well said. I agree. It's Liberalism at its worst. They want everyone labelled by their race rather than just as Americans. This flawed philosophy keeps the races divided permanently. Martin Luther King fought for a color-blind society. Maybe this permanent division is what the Liberals/Democrats want. I often think it is what they want. There are no African-Americans. There are only Americans. We have to start thinking this way.

I don't perceive it as racist, but I do perceive it as angry, based on what little exposure I've had. By this point in this thread, I'm asssuming that you are black? Am I correct? If so, please tell those of us who don't have the advantage of black perspective, just what is it that will mend the racial divide from your own perspective? We can't erase the history of slavery in America, and we can't make everyone the same. All we can do is provide an environment of equal rights, but we can't make someone feel equal when they don't perceive it themselves.
Note- I'm not being sarcastic, and I'm not trying to stir the pot of shit. I really want to know.
