Are Agriculture Subsidies a form of Socialism?

Do Tea Party voters think socialist programs should be cut or even done away with?

Will Tea Party voters, their elected candidates, and their respective states lead by example and cut socialist subsidies that their states reply on? Will they lead by example with their principles?

Yes they are.... should they be done away with YES!

I think that most all gov't subsidies should be done away with.

Stand on your OWN two feet and stop "asking what your country can do for YOU, but what YOU can be doing for your country"

I live on a very small farm, and I am very against subsidies. Why?

Here is my problem: My family is very LARGE, and one family within the family, owns a very large sum of acreage (well over 6000 acres) and their biggest profit is from government subsidies. I know they are family, and I love them very much, but I do not appreciate that their not forced to survive on business like others are. If I opened a grain bin company (one can dream), I would not recieve a subsidy, cause I would be a middle man, but if I fail, then people would have to go straight to farmers for grain for their animals [in the area that the grain bin company covers, of course] so, if the farmer recieves subsidy, all should.

Just to keep it safe, I am the son of a once farmer, grand-son of farmers, etc etc, and I am going to hopefully farm after my military career, but, I think business should be fair throughout all. I understand some government aid, but...it has made farming where if you do not own over 500 acreage in most products (tobbaco excluded, for sure) you cannot simply afford to buy the neccessary equipment. A brand new combine itself, can cost well over 250,000$, I looked up the price of a brand-new John Deere 9020 Combine, 350,000$+. That is a very nice house for most.
