I try to pick the same 4 cardinal points approximating about 4.5 MILLION square miles (That's a big number). I could have added another 1 or 2MM square miles as both Russia and Canada are in deep freeze, but I'd rather stay consistent with these 4 points around the Arctic.

Abstract
[1] Accurate measurements of surface radiative temperature, i.e. skin temperature, would be more directly interpretable in terms of the surface response to increase of greenhouse gases than the more conventional screen temperatures. Such measurements have not previously been attempted because of the difficulties of converting existing observations into a meaningful measurement. We have developed procedures for removing the effects of changing satellite orbits and cloud contamination from skin temperatures estimated from AVHRR channels 4 and 5, and so provide a first estimate of the trends of land surface skin temperature over the last two decades. The estimated land temperature increase is not only much greater than that for the atmosphere but also apparently somewhat larger than the estimates of surface air temperature increase from in situ measurement.

Now for my original analysis of the fraudulent Keeling Curve which I have renamed the Scary Graph:

It was so constructed to mislead you which science should never do. Why is this misleading, or in other words fraudulent?

1. It does not have a zero base. This skews the graph dramatically, giving it much more upward slope than
reality would present.
2. It includes the 96% of carbon dioxide that is naturally produced, over which humans have no control.
3. It excludes THE DOMINANT greenhouse gas, water vapor, which is 15,000 ppmv.

If you redraw this Scary Graph and correct for those three intentionally misleading factors, it is as flat as a pool table.
