Trump gained this power because the Blue Wall has let the Ds ignore the majority of the country for the past half century and more. The Blue Wall is crumbling because you have to get out of the top ten wealthiest people in the country to get to non-Democrats. With the Blue Wall teetering on bankruptcy the Ds are in huge trouble.
