He went into the Church to report an event

Churches are open to the general public and encourage people to come in

Not when they disrupt services you can not use your Constitutional rights to interfere with others rights.

The question is why the local police are not arresting these thugs assaulting journalists on the public streets.

Exactly Police enforce laws; maintain public order, preventing crime, and protecting citizens and their property.
ICE is there for Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

It seems the mobs can interchange the bad guys at will.
The MPD police were bad back during George Floyd, seems "Hands up, don't shoot" got old.

We have seen this before..
