Not positive, but I've heard that Florida law prohibits a sitting governor from running for POTUS. That he would have to resign when he makes his campaign announcement. That may be bullshit. Or it may be something that Florida politicians could have easily come up with.

Used to be that you could run as governor, but then they changed it to say that you had to resign, but now FL lawmakers are considering changing the law yet again so that DeSantis can run and keep his current job as governor.
