AOC: We Can Reduce Violent Crime And Lower Incarceration Rates If We Stop Building Jails

We don’t invest enough in preventative care which causes us to keep building jails to incarcerate. What’s hard to understand? Good message. And....Damn she’s hot.

Preventative care starts with misdemeanor programs. By the time an individual works up to multiple felonies, it's too late.
Prisons, indeed, have their place.
Yea. Agree. But her point is we don’t invest enough in up front deterrence. And not just small criminal but kids before they get there through lack of opportunities or mental health issues, ets.
Leftards think we need government funds to keep people honest.
What pathetic subhuman creatures they are.
Way to break down a complex and nuanced problem into fucktard bingo. Mensa you ain’t.

It isn't complex.
Like I said before, we do know what already works!
It's a matter of will and compromise. 2 elements that we may never see again.

Our prison population expands to over-fill as many jails as are available while crime seems to never be negatively affected at all. There has to be a better way.
Jails are to keep criminals away from law abiding citizens.
Most of the people in jail are there for drugs yet Americans can still buy all the drugs they want in every town and city in the country. The drug war is a total failure just like most other methods of crime prevention.
People are murdered every day as well. I guess the solution is to just make murder legal.
Is that your special version of logic? Violent criminals should be in jail but there is a problem. There's not enough of them to keep the prison system profitable. People trying to get out from under simple possession charges is a river of money for the criminal justice system and directly employs thousands of people for no clear benefit to society.
Just using your logic.

Lots of people in jail for murder, yet there is murder in every city. Obviously, the war on murder is a failure.
It clearly is a failure but murder does not equal simple possession of drugs nor is prosecuting it a major cash cow for the prison system.

Well she’s in Congress has she put up a solution or just complaints? And Schumer’s been in the Senate for how many decades again? Sorry I’m just tired of career politicians bitching instead of working.

Putting criminals in jail doesnt affect crime rates?

huh?

Give us stats to back up your absurd allegations.
He can't. He's a moron, like AOC.

The brains and moral compass of the Democratic Party.

NOTE: Schumer nods in agreement.

New York Democrat Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez said at a press conference Thursday the U.S. should "stop building" jails if we want to reduce the inmate population.
"It is not acceptable for us to use jails as garbage bins for human beings. We need to treat people and see them as human," Ocasio-Cortez said. "If we want to reduce violent crime, reduce the number of people in our jails, the answer is to stop building more of them."

"The answer is to make sure we actually build more hospitals, we pay organizers, we get people mental health care," she said. "It's to support communities, not throw them away."

Does she remember to mention which Party initiated the vast majority of new prisons built since the 90s ?
