Anybody here ever root their phone?

Its a long story, but at&t fucked me over and made me purchase an extra samsung s6 egde plus phone. Now that i have 2 of them im thinking of jail-breaking one of them. My questions are: should i do it myself? If not and i get someone to do it for me how much should i pay them? Am i going to be able to watch nfl games for free?
