Another clue, pray the Prez and his administration don't use you as the lie in their scapegoat efforts.

He got a year, automatically he gets half off for good time/work time credit. That leaves him with six months. He gets time served credit for the two months he's already served. That leaves him with four months.

Depending on whether he can get early release as a non-violent offender he could be out any day.

He violated probation rules and going to the slammer for it. I got no problem with that. But do have a problem with Barry & Co. for the phony video b.s. about causing the murder of 4 Americans.

He violated his parole. Believe that was a state matter. Shouldn't have gotten his name in the papers. Where's that vaunted rightie belief in personal rsponsibility? Is only for the "other guy"?!?! :eusa_eh:

Well, he did violate federal parole not state parole so it is a federal and not state matter. But, what he got was less than a slap on the wrist. More like a flick.

We don't know. At one time it was that he used an alias, but he didn't do that. Then it was that he used the internet, but we don't know that the government proved that he did that either. I suspect that this was a deal and he plead guilty for a very light sentence and avoid a lengthy trial. The sentence was for a year, which would really have worked out to four months at maximum. But we have already had a Federal Judge order early release for non-violent offenders, so we don't know that this guy wasn't released immediately after sentencing.

This guy was a scumbag when George H. W. Bush was president, Bill Clinton was president, George W. Bush was president, and during Barack Obama's presidency. This criminal is a recidivist offender and he got punished according to the letter of the law.

"In August of 1991, Youssef, who owns a gas station, was convicted on two counts of selling watered-down fuel. Six years later, he was arrested on charges related to the manufacture of PCP. In 2009, Youssef was arrested for using 14 different identities — including “Kritbag Difrat” and “P.J. Tobacco” – in a check-kiting scheme. Afterwards, Youssef turned informant against the supposed ringleader. In return, he received a relatively light penalty for participation in the scheme: a $794,700 fine, 21 months in federal custody, and an order to stop lying about who he was.

“The defendant shall not obtain or possess any driver’s license, Social Security number, birth certificate, passport or any other form of identification in any name, other than the defendant’s true legal name,” reads Youssef’s terms of probation (.pdf). “Nor shall the defendant use, for any purpose or in any manner, any name other than his/her true legal name or names without the prior written approval of the Probation Officer.”

The Arab American previously served his 21-month prison sentence for using more than a dozen aliases and opening about 60 bank accounts to conduct a check fraud scheme and after he was released from prison, Youssef was barred from using computers or the Internet for five years without approval from his probation officer and uploading the film to YouTube secretly under a pseudonym constituted a parole violation regardless of its content which did not violate YouTube's terms of service.

Perhaps you could explain why fraud and/or breaking your parole conditions is a political crime.

Your hero is just another convict who broke the law when he got out of gaol.
Given your support for this thief, it begs questions about your moral compass.

I thought the right wing were into law and order, not supporting criminals.

Here's a clue. When you're on probation don't violate it in a way that gets your name in the papers Dumb ass!!!

Man behind anti-Islam film gets year in prison – This Just In - CNN.com Blogs

When it first came out he was arrested I was suspicious, but further study of the Situation shows he was in pretty serious Violation of his Probation.

Now that said it's not uncommon for Probation officers to know someone is in Violation and not act. It is entirely possible nothing would had happened to him, with out the Video being made an international Scape Goat for Radical Islamic Intolerance and Violence.

He violated his probation. What part of that don't right wingers understand?

the part where it appears he had been in Violation for some time, and action was only taken after the Video Story broke. Just looked fishy.

In the end his sentence is justified for the Violation at hand, but it was sure to raise questions with the timing.

P.O.s are busy people and, unfortunately, don't have the time to devote to checking everything their charges are doing. However, if you're going to be stupid enough to make yourself world-famous with your violation, that's a different story. It's not fishy, IMO; it's business as usual.
