Let me just say that I think Trump can be an effective Manager in Chief. I suspect that he will run the country like a business, meaning he will have the best people for his advisers and he will consult them. Obama, on the other hand, tries to micro-manage too many matters, on his own.
My opinion notwithstanding, the general perception of Trump is that he is a bumbler that cannot possibly measure up to the political elites. However, Trump has rabid supporters and has now won two primaries. Why do his supporters not see the bumbling blowhard in the same light as the media and the elitists?
Let's face it, Obama may be an intelligent man but he is a bumbling idiot when it comes to policy. Everyone knows that he has a shady past, is a radical leftist, and has little in the way of real world experience in anything. He is a child. His petulance and many temper tantrums support this conclusion. He is a great big NOTHING.
So based on the Ascent of some prick like Obama, the electorate is now conditioned to believe that virtually anyone can be president, even a dumb bumbling fool like Trump. Obama has substantially lowered the bar such that a fucking socialist and a despicable, lying crook are seeking the Democratic nomination. On the right you have some very qualified candidates and Trump.
As I said, Trump will make a fine president if elected, though I am a Cruz supporter. But the media has maligned Trump. So why support such a bumbling moron? Because after Obama being a bumbling moron is the new standard. In reality, Trump and his advisers are sharp as tacks. Everything he does he does for a reason. He has dominated coverage of this election cycle.
Trump is playing into this dumb fool role because it gives him an advantage - the electorate does not give a rat's ass about specifics. Rather, they just want to hear what they want to hear. That is just what Trump is doing, following in the footsteps of Obama.
If you lower standards by electing an inconsequential prick like Obama, then do not be surprised when we have an election cycle dominated by our current candidates.
