Another reason why School Vouchers are needed....

Vouchers are nothing more than EBT cards for schooling...Not only won't they ultimately fix the problem, all indications with the "success" of gubmint programs indicate that they'll more than likely make things worse.

It's a better argument for outright abolition of gubmint "education".

But then what do you do with all the millions and millions and millions of families that can't afford private education? You do not want tens of millions of uneducated teenagers with nothing but time on their hands roaming the streets.

Millions and millions of families can feed, clothe, and shelter their children each and every day....Including the sainted pooooooor.

We already have that, with the trillions thrown at "education" and a federal leviathan with its ravenous hooks sunk into it.

Gubmint schools are welfare for the middle & lower classes, and they've "achieved" the same shit results as every other shit gubmint program.

Any and all ratings can be, and usually are, controversial. So all of this needs to be taken with a grain of salt.

NewsBleat is just rehashing the wallethub report.

Which measure student performance Not the School System.

Plus, Florida has School Vouchers and Tax Credits for Home Schooling. Which I doubt many of the commie-controlled dimocrap scum States do.

I have personally talked to people who moved here that bragged about how their kid was in advanced classes in The People's Republic or The Break Wind State (Joisey) and snickered when their kids flunked out of school. Same with Kaliphony. Seen it. Up close and personal.

Florida has the best Public Education System, K thru College of any State. If people choose to believe otherwise, that's up to them.

It's like one of the top reasons people move here.

Think about it.... If you were a Top Rated Teacher and could work almost anywhere in the Country, would you rather be in the Break Wind State, The People's Republic, Kaliphony or Florida, where a Teacher's salary goes a lot further?

Maybe Florida isn't the best for everybody, but for most, it really is that good.

Choice matters. And because of it, Public Schools have gotten better. If a Public School loses too many Students, they lose their funding and the Teachers have to get a real job.

Trust me, they don't want that.

Not all of them.

Recent School Closures in the 2020s

  • Decreased Enrollment:Multiple Florida school districts have been closing traditional public schools because of declining enrollment rates.
  • School Choice and Charters:This decline is attributed to parents choosing private schools and homeschooling, partly due to the expansion of Florida's universal school choice program and the growth of charter schools.
  • Example:Broward County, for instance, has instructed officials to develop a plan to close at least five schools.
  • Individual School Closures:Some specific traditional public schools have closed due to receiving consistently low grades, such as the University Preparatory Academy in West Palm Beach.

Oh, so what you're saying is that private charitable institutions, who care about children, will step in and fill the gaps.

Capitulation accepted.

The School Closings? Despite this -- ??

Should tell you something

... a federal leviathan with its ravenous hooks sunk into it.

...
The federal government has little to do with public education. It's almost entirely a state/local thing.

Hogwash....Federal dollars have been used as a cudgel to dictate curriculum and policies....Don't bother denying it, everyone knows it's true.

Regardless, State and local bureaucracies are every bit as top heavy with administration, corrupt, and incompetent as any federal agency....In fact, a lot of them are worse.

You can't help yourself, can you?

In Fiscal Year (FY) 2023, the U.S. Department of Education received approximately $79.6 billion in funding, though the exact total spent on public schools varies by year and data source.

80 (eighty) Billion seems like a lot of money to me. With around 50 Million Students in K-12 Public Schools, that works out to about $1,600 per student.

Fair amount of change.

The government knows how to waste money? Shocking revelation!
