Isn't really how it works around here really. Other than some grants or infrastructure improvements, the companies have to build out on their own dime---usually on leased land. Don't pay your rent, the owner of the land becomes the owner of your solar farm in due course. It isn't a horrible deal for landowners with no intention of farming or developing the land. I know someone who is going to get $1500 per year per acre plus a percentage of the revenue for a battery farm on their land when the average rent for agricultural land is like $90 an acre in the state.
