The fund was intended to improve the Chicago education system (how did that work out?) and was allegedly used to skim money that went to buy votes for democrats. If the money is quoted in dollars then: $0.30USD - $23.51BDT. This would be a FANTASTIC job in Bangladesh! It would be equivalent to 23 times the average household. If not, it is equal to about 50% of an average family income in that country. So it's either awesome or completely normal.

It is kind of a fan sport, or as I like to call it, a commodity for sale. More's the pity.

I'm not that familiar with the sports stuff (except for Bonds) but "deflate", "beat", "juice" and "lie" are all actions. "Sane" is getting at a subjective opinion and ad hominem, doesn't address an action.

But back to the commodity fetish -- it's been true for some time that we don't elect a candidate, but rather buy a product -- whichever image whichever party successfully sells. Political campaigning like advertising involves wholesale exaggeration, pipe dreams and sometimes outright lying. Donald Rump is simply way off the scale in the latter trait, to the point (as here) where he thinks he can stand there and deny having done/said something which is still sitting there on recorded video. It's another version of "I could shoot somebody on Fifth Avenue and not lose votes". And he's probably right.

Scumbaggery as that is, it says less about him than it says about the denialists who support him. Rump is in effect like the comedian whose act goes more and more surreally absurd simply for the sake of absurdity.
