Are we too pissed off at socialism to help these people out? Lots of help for Haiti--why not Venezuela? Or am I missing something?

Socialism in Norway, Sweden and Finland seem not to suffer from the same problem... It could be that South American countries usually suffer badly because of the mere fact their leaders never practice what they preach and starve the population and are more like Communist North Korea and less like Socialist Countries like Finland...

I do not support the concept of Socialism but I do know many countries from Canada to Finland seem to never suffer the same effects for some reason...

All rulers, no matter what form they come in, are motivated by self interest. No system of rulership can ever embody ideals or principles outside personal greed.

However, if our govt was run the way it was SUPPOSED to be, they wouldn't have ever gotten the amount of power to be as bad as they are now.

The government is working the way it is supposed to be. The constitution is functioning exactly as it was designed.

The reality is Socialism has worked in certain countries but is the experiment in Venezuela truly Socialism or some poor version of Cuban Communism?

Also knowing the region, the history, and understanding the culture you can understand that Socialism and Communism will never work because former Spanish Colonies still believe in where you were born is where you will die and being treated equal to those from blue blood families is never going to happen...

Now does that make me racist for admitting the reality of life?
